Crappy map will have to do till I have the time to draw a better one. Please bear with me for now.
Map is very temporary and bound to change.
The following isn't compulsory reading, but it might be interesting to get a better view on the locations and background of the roleplay.
Especially when plot rears its head.
Towns and Cities.
1. Maresias
A large seaside port. Most contacts to other regions go through Maresias. After all, going East would require a long desert walk or roundabout trip from most areas.
Going West is getting trickier with the current political situation and the North is blocked by mountains.
As such, Maresias grew out to be a large trading post and one of Solum's biggest cities.
Quite a bustling city, with a large harbour which attracts many merchants as well as shadier folk.
For information Maresias is the place to be, but one must remember that the walls have ears.
2. Efas
Whether you're a scientist, trainer or tourist Efas is an essential place to stock up before heading out in to the desert. A small village, but rife with shops that provide everything for the trip. With good reason.
Unprepared it might be the last trip you'll ever make.
3. Aerei
Aerei once started as a small village where researchers resided while they worked in the desert.
Over time, it's central location and the fact it's one of the few populated places in the desert made it grow in size.
These days, it's grown to be a popular tourist spot and can easily be called a city. A busy town now, where many contests are held each year.
4. Treehut
A nice peaceful city. Despite it's close proximity to the border, it's remained tranquil, likely due to the fact the forest is densely packed to the west of the city.
Most of the living accommodations are located high up the trees. In turn, the city spread rather far through the forest with the furthest houses being quite a distance away from the center.
It's natural water resource meant many people flocked to the town, soon turning it into a city.
5. Hillseid
A small mountain town. Despite being located at the foot of the mountain range houses and huts stretch up far up the slope.
Because of the fact that the trees are less densely packed along the mountain's foot the town is amongst the first to notice tension from the East.
Natural predators like Houndooms, Mightyena and occasional lost Ursaring from the forests are plenty in the area. They are mostly attracted by the growing business of Mareep, Milktank and other farming on the hills, the domestic untrained Pokemon being an easy target.
6. Nevel
A town located high up the mountains. The icy cold and general inaccessibility means few but the very determined live there.
The year round snow would make it a good holiday destination, if it wasn't for how hard it is to access through the desert.
Getting up is a tough climb, but men say that the view is worth it. The mountains are supposedly littered with treasure of long past, which is a far more common reason to visit. Who knows what can still be found amongst the Icy Ruins of long ago?
7. Rochat
Similar to Efas, a reasonably sized town build next to a lake pooled at the bottom of the mountain. A good stop between Aerei and Nevel. Once again, a great place to stock up on supplies.
The town is located closely to mines in the mountain, allowing for many natural resources to be mined, which is the highest source of income in the town.
Because of the long transport the sources require many of it is already refined in the town itself by expert craftsmen.
8. Miliumis
A very touristic town. The track from Maresias, despite the distance, is quite an easy one. The plains stretch quite evenly, meaning it's easy to reach for tourists.
Its close proximity to water meant it developed a big business in water based pokemon sports. (Squirtle surfing, Gyarados Rodeo, etc.)
It holds a strong rivalry with Oroya and many contests are held each year between the two, generally a spectacle to behold.
9. Oroya
A short trip across the water from Miliumis and equally touristic. In an attempt to set themselves apart from Miliumis the town has adapted a more traditional look to attract tourists.
Buildings in old styles are scattered throughout the city, it has a rustic quality, which is preferred by some over the hustle and bustle in Miliumis.
When it comes to competing however, the town will get just as vicious as Miliumis.
10. Molinia
An island a little ways off the coast. Quite independent from the rest of Solum. Talk has even gone around of separating the islands from the rest of the region.
The inhabitants tend to be grudgingly hospitable to the rest of Solum.
Yet, people flock to the island as the caves and waters surrounding it are filled with uncommon pokemon.
Regions
Solum
The main region of the roleplay. Due to the large desert at the center of the region, water is a valuable resource. Very few natural rivers or lakes are present in the area. In turn, most inhabitants gathered around these natural sources.
Above anything, Solum is littered with old ruins of long times past, scattered around the region. One can find them anywhere, from the deserts to the icy mountains and from deep in the forests to hidden of the coast.
Restants of an old civilization. Scientists and researchers from over the world flock to investigate what could've caused it to crumble.
However the long stretches of empty nature could well conceal more than just ruins.
Terana
The region to the West of Solum. Relationships between Terana and Solum have been getting tense recently.
Some people whisper of war.
It is clear however, that it has already gotten too dangerous to cross the border.
Aldena
The northern region of Aldena is allied with Terana. However, relatively little about them is known to most in Solum, due to the mountain range seperating the two regions.
Only the few people in Nevel might occasionally come into contact with Aldenians.
Rior
A rather neutral area to the East.
It separates itself from politics, meaning it's one of the few areas Solumians, or anyone else can visit safely for vacations.
Recently however, the border has been closed and those wishing to enter have to follow strict procedures.
