As Eduard kept on going, it felt like Vash’s hint had never been spoken. The mercenary’s eyes were focused at some point ahead of them, brows furrowed as he glared into nothing.
Günter also seemed to notice the chattiness of their new companion, poking Vash’s knee as they walked side by side. The Cubone’s eyes said it all, a silent plead that both knew what it meant. Make him shut up.
The boy sighed. “I know.” The Pokémon frowned, pouted even, but it wasn’t something Vash hadn’t already tried to fix. Still, Vash too wanted Eduard to be quiet.
“I don’t care, Eduard.”
With a huff, Günter kicked a pebble, as annoyed as his trainer. Cubone could have sworn he felt like being watched, but was too proud to look back.

Of course Eduard had noticed Vash was not particularly talk active. Or very nice for that matter. But to just ignore him and turn to his Pokemon before answering him? If you had to travel alone for so long, did you not want to have a conversation once in a while?
"I don't care, Eduard." The words run clearly in his mind still, not that hurt because he could've seen it coming, but still somewhat thrown off by the sheer bluntness of the other boy. Admiral bleated quietly next to him, and Eduard wasn't sure if she was comforting, telling him to back of or go on, a little too distracted at the moment.
Don't, Eduard, you've already annoyed him and you'll still be travelling together for quite a while. You can always talk to him later, maybe in the evening. He reminded himself, fingertips still idly caressing Admiral.
"Ah... I'm sorry." He said, falling silent.
Admiral too trailed a bit lonesomely besides him, but her eyes stayed fixated on the Cubone. Perhaps when they had made a stop, she could strike.
